Introducing the “Make it Move Inventor Kit” – A New LEGO Ideas Model You Can Support!
As a successful LEGO Ideas fan designer, having had the honour of seeing my LEGO Typewriter become an official LEGO set, I’m excited to share my latest project with you: the Make it Move Inventor Kit! This new set combines the magic of LEGO with the wonders of mechanical movement, offering builders the chance to explore and create 11 different working models inspired by famous inventions and discoveries. My goal is to teach and inspire builders of all ages by bringing S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts to life through fun and engaging mechanical models.
What Makes the “Make it Move Inventor Kit” Special?
The Make it Move Inventor Kit is designed to teach and inspire, offering builders the chance to create 11 different moving models based on iconic inventions and discoveries by famous inventors. Each model introduces a different mechanism that drives movement, such as cranks, gears, pulleys, levers, cams, and chains – all powered by a simple hand crank.

The set encourages creativity, experimentation, and learning as you explore a wide range of mechanisms, discover the power of motion, and ultimately create your own moving models using the pieces and ideas from the set.
The kit contains approximately 1200 pieces, providing a challenging yet rewarding experience for builders. And with the addition of a minifigure – “Steve the Inventor” – you’ll have a quirky, fun companion to guide you through the process. Steve might wear a fancy hat and a beard to look the part of an eccentric inventor, but at heart, he’s just a regular guy who loves to play, build, and invent with LEGO bricks!
